Marketplace: Marketplace is this Thursday, March 30th. Students please bring an extra bag to shop! 

*10 items, kiosk, and Flip commercial are all due Wednesday March 29th at 8:15am! We will be doing a preview of all items, kiosks and commercials on Wednesday morning. 

If you signed up to volunteer for our Marketplace Event  please plan to meet in our classroom at 9:45 am on Thursday. We will need our volunteers to stay from 9:45am - 12:10pm. There will be a very important parent meeting to go over roles and responsibilities. We appreciate your helping hands. This is a super fun event for our 3rd grade students! We couldn’t do it without you! 


Writing: We have been working really hard in class on our leprechaun narratives. Together we developed our exposition (beginning) and brainstormed ideas for the (conflicts)  twists and turns that the leprechaun would encounter throughout the plot. We also brainstormed ideas for the resolution (ending). This week students will be Revising/Editing and Typing their leprechaun narrative in Google Classroom for homework. They will be bringing home their Spiral Notebook to use for homework. We gave students time in class to start typing their narratives today. Please help your child develop, revise, and edit his/her narrative at home for homework this week, especially the events after the leprechaun gets put in the trap.  We have been working on including: rich vocabulary, dialogue and figurative language. The Narrative Rubric is in Google Classroom. Students can print their final copy at home or print them in class on Friday. Refer to the exposition (beginning) to see how we developed the beginning of our narratives together.  *For more Typing Practice try: (in Clever) or Dance Mat Typing (free)

Math: This week we will continue to explore various strategies to calculate Area by decomposing figures into rectangles and adding the areas to find a total area. (See image below)

3.MD.7 *Recognize the area as additive. Find areas of rectilinear figures by decomposing them into non-overlapping rectangles and adding the areas of the non-overlapping parts, applying this technique to solve real world problems.
