Oral Presentations
Use these BIG IDEAS to choose a topic to research and present an oral report:
November/December -- PLACE (country, continent, state, planet, etc.)
March/April-- Science ( solar system, weather, minerals, scientists, inventions, water cycle, animal adaptations, etc.) or Social Studies
May/June-- free choice (artist, sport, president, athlete, flower, animal, instrument, etc.)
Presentation schedules will be sent home for each oral and students should be ready to present on the day they are assigned. Students are asked to highlight their name on the schedules to clearly mark the specific date he/she needs to present. It is possible however, due to time constraints, some presentations get pushed back to the next day. Our daily schedule is extremely tight so please help your child be ready on their assigned day. It is not often that I turn down parent requests to visit the classroom, however, due to tight scheduling, I will not be able to give parents exact times to come in and watch these presentations. I will also let the kids know this is my restriction for all of our orals this year.
I included additional information about preparing for oral presentations in the Program LIKE handbook.
